Biography

Upon receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education, with a minor in Mathematics from the University of New Mexico in 2005, James taught English as a Foreign Language with the U. S. Peace Corps in Sichuan, China. After returning stateside, James took a job with Albuquerque Public Schools, in Albuquerque, NM, where he spent five years as a 7th grade Math teacher. After five years, he decided to pursue a degree in Engineering and in May 2016 he received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. His love of learning has led him to his current work as a Teaching Assistant where he continues to enjoy student interactions as he pursues a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering.

James has proposed and developed design challenges for the FACETS project. He continues to be involved by facilitating the implementation of design challenges in the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department’s freshmen and sophomore classes.
